Dowsing Instruments

As I described before it can often be very handy to recheck the harmonizing actions that you have taken. Have you done enough? Should you do more?

To check the work you have already done you can use a pendulum, or kinesiology. But you can also work with a dowsing instrument.

With a dowsing instrument you don't only get a “Yes” or a “No”, the motions of a dowsing instrument itself can give you much more precise and additional information than the other methods do. And it's quick and easily too!

I will give you some examples of this later on.

Let me first talk about the instruments themselves.

Classical dowsing rods

Probably you have already seen the classical dowsing rods somewhere before.

They are a pair of identical metal rods that one holds in the hand, as seen in this drawing:dowsingrods

You have to make an agreement between yourself and the rods, just like you would do with a pendulum and/or with kinesiology.

How?

  • Hold the rods in your hands in such a manner that the shortest part of the  rods can rotate in the palm of your hand while facing downwards, somewhere under the thick part below your little finger when you make a fist loosely.
  • Make an agreement between yourself and your dowsing instrument:
When you hold the rods stand forward in a straight line so that they run parallel to each other this signifies a: “No”;
But if they cross each other this signifies a: “Yes”.
  • Ask several times “give me a Yes” – “give me a No”.
  • Ask simple questions, like: “Is this an apple?” (Yes/No) – “Is this a newspaper?” (Yes/No) – “Is this a chair?” (Yes/No). And so on.

Just as with any other method you have to practice the use of dowsing rods often, before you can count on reliable results.

It is possible to make dowsing rods by yourself:

  • Take a metal rod, with copper elements in its compound if possible because those rods are a little bit more sensitive then others. The rod must have a length of 72cm.
  • Saw the rod in two equal parts.
  • Sand down the rough ends.
  • Bend the rods into a 90 degrees angle in such a way that you get a short part that measures 12 cm and a longer part that measures 24 cm.

Now you have made a pair of dowsing rods that you can use as described above.
This dowsing instrument is the most common, but it is not my personal instrument of choice.

Dowsing with a string of a violin or guitar

The dowsing instrument described below is simpler still, very easy to handle and can be made in no time.

1. Take a  violin string (G4) or guitar string.

  • It does not have to be a new one; an old broken string works just as well.
  • The string of a guitar can be best a wound one with a thickness about 0,01 cm. This is less than half of the thickness of a match stick.
  • The length of the string can vary between 40 and 65 cm, depending on the thickness of the string, the flexibility, the size of your hands and what feels best for you. There are no rules for its length (nor for its thickness).
  • An economic way is to begin with a large piece because in time the string wears and snaps. You can use the longest remaining part for a couple of months until this goes to pieces as well.
  • Most of the time one end of the string already has a smooth finish and the other end is broken and sharp. Give that sharp end a smooth finish too (bend it and tie it up for instance).

And now the real work can begin.

2. Take both ends of the string between the thumbs and forefingers of your hands as seen on the drawing:

3. Make a loop in the string in such a way that the right side of the string lies across and over the left side and rests on your index finger.

4. Now put a little bit of tension in the loop. You will find the right tension by alternately loosening and pulling the string end in your right hand.

The string parts that make the loop must be rest against each other with tension, so they are in an active position (this can be difficult in the beginning).

5. When this succeeds you make an agreement between yourself and your dowsing instrument. Let a “No” be the position of the string parts as described under point 4, your starting point.dowsingstring open

Agree now that when the two parts of the string in the middle move apart (away from each other) it means a “Yes”.

To get the feeling train this several times while saying: “Give me a Yes” – “Give me a No”.

6. Then ask simple questions: “Is this a table” (Yes/No) – “Is this a towel” (Yes/No) – “Is this a spoon” (Yes/No), and so on, until you can trust yourself and the reactions of your string. Try to stay relaxed. Have fun!

It is time now to try to detect disturbing electric energies in your room.

Ask: “Is there a disturbing electric energy in this room” (Yes/No).

It is always important to ask a counter question to check the first answer. So, you can ask: “Is this room free from disturbing electric energies” (Yes/No).

If you got a “Yes” on your first question and a “No” on the second one, you have to find out where the disturbing energy is coming from.

If you want to learn how to do this go to: “Search and Find Energies”.

Dowsing using a Biotensor

If you wish to work with a more luxurious measuring instrument you can buy a so called: “Bio tensor (or Biosensor)”.biotensor

This instrument looks something like this:

You agree with this instrument that it will give you a “Yes” when its tip goes up and down vertically and that it gives you a “No” when its tip moves from side to side horizontally.

For more information go to Biotensorcourse Part One

Like the other dowsing instruments the Biotensor can show you a minute “Yes” or “No” and a loud and clear  “YES” or “NO” answer as well by the dynamic of its movements.
